Rainy day pastimes for children

Palm, Louise von · 1910 · Boston, D. Estes & Company · 92 pictures

A children's handicraft manual by Louise von Palm, published in Boston by D. Estes & Company in 1910, giving parents and teachers indoor paper-folding, weaving, and drawing exercises to occupy children. The plates are numbered line diagrams: folded squares with dashed crease lines and hatched shading, checkerboard paper-weaving patterns in solid black and stipple, and grids of geometric figures built from ruled lines and dots, useful as pattern stock, instructional-diagram motifs, or modular ornament.
