Records of the past
Records of the Past was a monthly archaeology journal issued by the Records of the Past Exploration Society in Washington, D.C., from 1904, aimed at antiquarians, museum readers and field excavators in America and abroad. Its plates are coarse-screen halftone photographs of excavated masonry, cliff faces, trenches and open terrain, printed in sepia on cream stock, useful for grainy texture, stone-block pattern and stark horizon compositions.
