The renaissance: its art and life; Florence (1450-1550)
A survey of Florentine art and society from 1450 to 1550 written by Selwyn Brinton and issued in 1908 by Goupil & Co. in Paris and New York for collectors of illustrated art editions. The plates are sepia photogravures of frescoes, altar panels and marble tombs, giving deep-perspective architectural interiors, robed standing figures, carved effigies under draped canopies, and Latin inscription tablets flanked by angels and ornamental border strips.
