Robert Adam & his brothers : their lives, work & influence on English architecture, decoration and furniture
John Swarbrick's 1915 study for B.T. Batsford in London surveys the Adam brothers' architecture, interiors and furniture for architects, decorators and students of Georgian design. Halftone photographs and measured drawings record ceiling compartments, stucco arabesques, chimneypieces, pier glasses and sculpture galleries, supplying repeatable neoclassical ornament: fan and paterae motifs, husk chains, urn panels and coffered domes.
