A French mathematics review journal issued in Paris by Gauthier-Villars from 1870 under the Ministère de l'éducation nationale, written by and for research mathematicians and astronomers. The figures are line diagrams of intersecting curve families, numbered grids on curved surfaces, and set equations in type, useful as abstract lattice patterns, mesh textures, or typographic mathematical ornament.
