Surveying and tables

Wentworth, G. A. (George Albert), 1835-1906 · 1903 · Boston, Ginn · 33 pictures

A surveying textbook with logarithmic and trigonometric tables by the American mathematics writer George Albert Wentworth, published in Boston by Ginn in 1903 for secondary and engineering students. The figures are hairline-and-heavy-rule geometric diagrams on aged buff paper: closed traverses, meridian lines with N and S ends, dashed projection lines to latitude and departure axes, and circles with radiating bearings, all lettered in italic capitals and primes, useful as spare linework, coordinate-grid motifs, and technical labelling.
