The thousand and one churches
An archaeological survey of the ruined Byzantine churches at Binbirkilise on the Kara Dağ in Lycaonia, Asia Minor, recorded by William Mitchell Ramsay and Gertrude Bell and published by Hodder in London for architectural historians and classical scholars. The plates are coarse-grained field halftones of coursed ashlar and rubble walls, blocked windows, horseshoe and barrel arches, collapsed vaults and scree, alongside measured plans, sections and profile drawings of mouldings and capitals.
