What to do and how to do it; the American boys handy book
A how-to manual of outdoor games, crafts and homemade equipment written and illustrated by Daniel Carter Beard, founder of the Boy Scouts' forerunner organizations, issued by Scribner's in New York in 1920 for American boys. The 296 line drawings are spare pen diagrams of rigged sails, lashed sticks, arrows, traps and rafts, with hatched ground and water, usable as instructional marks and simple object silhouettes.
