Woodward's architecture and rural art : landscape gardening, and rural art
A pattern book of house designs and grounds issued by George E. Woodward in New York in 1867, sold to builders and rural property owners wanting plans for cottages, farmhouses and villas. Wood-engraved perspective views sit in arched or circular vignettes, with board-and-batten walls, steep gables, finials, porches and smoking chimneys set among stipple-drawn shrubbery; plans and details supply flat linework.
