Floor plan shows that usually a porchextends across the front of a Type 1duplex. The stairway arrangementhere, by which the plan was adaptedto a steep hill, gives distinction tothis house. Even such variations wereplant-fabricated. ARCHITECT AND ENGINEER … In the Type 2 duplexes, entrance ofone unit is on the side. The simpleshifting of a few elements resultedin 14 different floor plans. But ar-rangements of kitchen and bath oreuniform, varying only in size. Notethat utilities are adjacent.
