Grates and fireplace fixtures in iron and brass
A 1907 trade catalogue from the Drake Marble and Tile Company of St. Paul, issued to builders, architects and homeowners selecting cast-iron and brass grates, summer fronts and fireplace fixtures. The plates are halftone photographs of single iron panels shot square to the camera, each carrying low-relief ornament: acanthus swags, wreaths with Greek key bands, stylized flowering stems, fluted ash aprons and slotted grille bars, all usable as square ornamental tiles, border strips or centered motifs.
