Architect and engineer
A monthly architectural trade journal issued in San Francisco from 1905 by Architect and Engineer, Inc., written for West Coast architects, engineers and builders. The plates are duotone halftone photographs of California houses, schools and civic buildings, shot in raking sun with deep shadow, alongside measured plans, elevations and detail drawings; useful for stucco and tile textures, colonnade rhythms, arcaded loggias and period line-drawn ornament.
