A B C of Gothic architecture
An introductory handbook of Gothic architecture by the Oxford antiquarian and publisher John Henry Parker, issued by Parker and Co. in London in 1907 for students, clergy and amateur church-visitors. The 169 wood-engravings isolate single building parts — lancet and traceried windows, clustered piers with foliate capitals, chevron mouldings, arcaded bay elevations — drawn in fine line with flat hatched shadow and blank glass, useful as clean architectural silhouettes, ornament motifs and diagram-like line stock.
