Canadian printer & publisher
Canadian Printer & Publisher was a monthly trade journal issued by Maclean-Hunter in Toronto in 1919 for commercial printers, typesetters and newspaper publishers across Canada. Most plates are halftone photographs of cast-iron presses, platen jobbers, folding and typesetting machines, supplied by manufacturers for advertisements and shop reports, with heavy rules, makers' nameplates and grainy grey backgrounds a designer can lift for machine silhouettes, industrial catalogue layouts or typographic borders.
