Comparative design for a highway bridge
An engineering thesis by James Herbert Hewitt, submitted at the University of Illinois in 1912, comparing steel truss and reinforced concrete designs for a highway bridge. The plates are hand-inked drawings: Pratt truss elevations with stress figures at each member, plans and sections of abutments, hatched concrete cross-sections, and dimension lines with handwritten fractional annotations.
