The Decorator's assistant
A weekly trade paper for house painters, grainers and ornamental decorators, issued by W. Gibbs in London from 1847 and aimed at working craftsmen. The wood-engraved figures show acanthus scrollwork, pendant medallions, fluted capitals and symmetrical foliate panels in open outline with hatched shading, ready to lift as line art, borders or repeating ornament.
