Design of a trunnion bascule bridge
A 1913 engineering thesis by Luan Chang at the University of Illinois, working out the design of a trunnion bascule bridge for faculty examiners. The plates are hand-inked drawings on tinted paper: plan and lateral bracing diagrams, stress tables, counterweight elevations, truss triangulation and riveted joint details, with dimension lines, arrows and hand lettering designers can lift as linework and annotation.
