Fifteen mechanical problems : reasons for their existence and their solution
A 1915 engineering thesis by Charles Elliotte Sargent, submitted at the University of Illinois, setting out fifteen mechanical problems and their solutions through reprinted patent drawings. The plates are line-engraved sectional views of valves, governors, gearing and cylinders, hatched and keyed with letters and figure numbers, with signed witness and inventor lines useful as machine diagrams and engraved lettering.
