Notes on Irish architecture
A two-volume antiquarian survey of early Irish stone building, compiled by the Earl of Dunraven and edited after his death by Margaret Stokes, published by G. Bell and Sons in London in 1875 for archaeologists and architectural historians. Mounted photographic plates show dry-stone forts, cashel walls, oratories and ruined churches in flat grey light, offering rubble masonry textures, corbelled stonework and wide stony landscapes.
