Handbook for architects and builders
A Chicago trade reference issued by the Illinois Society of Architects in 1898 for practicing architects, builders and contractors working from tables and specifications. Engraved line plates give column bases, moldings and masonry sections drawn with dimension lines, centre lines and diagonal hatching, while the advertising pages carry halftones of cast gears and mill fittings with lettered price copy — useful for measured-drawing linework, hatch patterns and machine-part silhouettes.
