The Locomotive
The Locomotive was a trade periodical issued from 1867 by the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company in Hartford, Connecticut, for engineers, boiler inspectors and plant owners. Its plates are line engravings: sectional views of furnaces and boilers, hatched masonry, dotted draft arrows, bucket wheels and pipe fittings, useful as technical diagram vocabulary and hatching patterns.
