Medical microscopy : a guide to the use of the microscope in medical practice
Frank Joseph Wethered's Medical Microscopy, published in Philadelphia by Blakiston in 1898, instructed physicians in laboratory slide work and specimen identification. The 82 figures are pen-and-ink drawings of cells, fibres, crystals and tissue sections, some framed in a ruled circle for the microscope field, offering stippled and hatched cell clusters, tangled fibre bundles and scattered granular textures.
