LASER SOUNDING OF THE ATMOSPHERE
A 1973 NASA technical report by V. Y. Zuyev on laser (lidar) sounding of the atmosphere, issued in English translation for atmospheric physicists and Skylab-era remote-sensing work. Illustrations combine coarse hatched profile strips of aerosol layers plotted against altitude, plotted-point curves of scattering ratio, a labelled section through a laser receiver with prism, mirrors, dry ice and photomultiplier, and a grainy halftone of a steel instrument mount, offering printed-texture graph fills, arrow-and-label diagram conventions, and degraded photographic tone.
