On the smokeless fire-place : chimney-valves, and other means, old and new, of obtaining healthful warmth and ventilation
Neil Arnott's 1855 London treatise on smokeless grates, chimney valves, and room ventilation, published by Longman for engineers, builders, and sanitary reformers. The plates are line-engraved sectional diagrams of fireplaces, flues, and air currents, with hatched brickwork, lettered reference keys, valves and stoves, and dotted arrows tracing draughts — usable as technical linework, cutaway conventions, and airflow notation.
