Plan of Chicago prepared under the direction of the Commercial club during the years 1906, 1907, and 1908
The 1909 Plan of Chicago, drawn up by Daniel Burnham and Edward Bennett for the Commercial Club of Chicago and edited by Charles Moore, proposed streets, parks, and civic buildings for the growing city. The plates are plans and bird's-eye views printed in sepia and grey washes on tinted paper, with block grids, radial avenues, tree rows shown as dotted lines, harbor breakwaters, and shaded building footprints that can be lifted as map textures, diagrams, or line pattern.
