A short history of renaissance architecture in England, 1500-1800
A survey of English Renaissance building from 1500 to 1800, written and illustrated by the architect Reginald Blomfield and published by G. Bell and Sons in London in 1900 for students and practitioners of architecture. The plates are the author's pen-and-ink perspective sketches of country houses, churches, and civic fronts, built from dense hatching and ruled line, with cornices, pilasters, balustrades, and mullioned windows drawn in detail against blank sky \u2014 usable as line stock for architectural ornament, facade studies, and crisp black-on-cream drawing texture.
