The tinman's manual and builder's and mechanic's handbook : designed for tinmen, japanners, coppersmiths, engineers ... with compositions and receipts for other useful and important purposes in the practical arts
A trade handbook compiled by Isaac Ridler Butts and published in Boston in 1861 for tinmen, coppersmiths, japanners and engineers, mixing geometric layout instruction with workshop recipes. The plates are fine-line geometric constructions—circles, tangents, arcs and lettered intersection points—usable as pattern-making diagrams, technical line ornament, or backgrounds of drafting notation.
