Treatise on marine and naval architecture, or, Theory and practice blended in ship building. Illustrated with more than 50 engravings
A technical manual on ship design by American naval architect and clipper designer John W. Griffiths, published in New York by D. Appleton in 1852 for shipwrights, draughtsmen and marine engineers. The plates are white-line engravings printed as negatives on solid black grounds: hull body plans, waterlines, sheer and half-breadth projections, stem and stern curves, with lettered stations, dimension ladders and fine hairline grids that read as ready-made blueprint graphics.
