Winkles's architectural and picturesque illustrations of the cathedral churches of England and Wales
An antiquarian topographical survey of English and Welsh cathedrals, engraved by Benjamin Winkles and published in London in 1836 for architecture-minded subscribers and travellers. The steel engravings give exterior elevations and oblique views in fine grey line work — tracery windows, buttresses, towers and porches — with small figures for scale and open sky above, useful as architectural silhouettes and cut-out details.
