Architect and engineer
Architect and Engineer was a monthly professional journal published in San Francisco from 1905, carrying project reports, technical articles and trade advertising for West Coast architects, engineers and builders. The plates are halftone photographs of houses, civic interiors and shopfronts, often captioned with client and architect, giving stucco walls, arched loggias, shuttered windows, columned lobbies and clipped garden hedges usable as period architectural reference and grainy monochrome texture.
