Architect and engineer
Architect and Engineer was a monthly professional journal published in San Francisco from 1905 for West Coast architects, engineers and building contractors. Its halftone plates show houses, schools and civic buildings photographed in raking daylight, with stucco walls, tile roofs, arcades and window grids reduced to flat grey tones, alongside measured plans, elevations and construction details useful as architectural silhouettes and line diagrams.
