Collected scientific papers
A posthumous gathering of J. H. Poynting's physics papers, edited by Gilbert Shakespear and Guy Barlow and issued by Cambridge University Press in 1920 for working physicists and university libraries. The 67 figures are plain line diagrams: sectioned laboratory apparatus for gravitation and radiation-pressure experiments, suspended beams and lead spheres in walled enclosures, lettered magnet pole pieces, and axis-labelled curve plots useful as schematic linework and technical annotation.
