Details of highway bridges
A 1906 engineering thesis by John Henry Frost, submitted at the University of Illinois, setting out standard connection details for highway bridges for student and practicing structural engineers. The plates are line drawings of riveted plate-girder joints, splices, gusset plates and I-beam sections in plan, elevation and section, giving designers grids of rivet holes, dashed hidden lines and flat orthographic hardware forms.
