First lessons in manual training and carpentry
A 1907 correspondence-course primer in manual training and carpentry, issued by the Craftsman's Home Study Schools of Freeport, Illinois, for beginning students working at home. The 24 engravings isolate hand tools and their working parts against blank grounds — saw teeth in profile, a rasp laid across a toothed plate, a handsaw cutting a board — giving clean tool silhouettes, letter-keyed diagrams and wood-grain hatching.
