A handbook on the teeth of gears, their curves, properties, and practical construction
A technical handbook on gear-tooth curves and their construction, written by mechanical engineer George B. Grant and published by his own Lexington Gear Works in Massachusetts in 1890 for machinists and draftsmen. The plates are line diagrams of tooth profiles, rolling circles, and contact paths, with cut-away sections in fine diagonal hatching, torn-edge fragments of metal, lettered points, and dashed construction arcs.
