International studio
An illustrated art periodical, the American edition of London's The Studio, published monthly in New York from 1897 for artists, architects, craftworkers and collectors of contemporary and decorative art. The plates are halftone reproductions of paintings, mural panels, sculpture and applied-art objects, printed in soft grey tonal ranges: misty landscape fantasies with pagodas and bridges, studio nudes, carved figures shot against dark grounds, and lunette-shaped decorative schemes usable as atmospheric backgrounds, arched frames and figure studies.
