The craftsman
The Craftsman, the monthly magazine Gustav Stickley began publishing in 1901 from Eastwood, New York, to spread Arts and Crafts ideas about houses, furniture and handwork among American readers. Pen-and-ink perspectives of bungalows sit beside halftone photographs of porches, gardens and overgrown yards, plus flat geometric repeat patterns printed in light and dark versions for comparison.
