Principles of dyeing

Fraps, George Stronach, 1876- · 1921 · New York Macmillan · 20 pictures

A technical textbook on dyeing chemistry and practice, written by George Stronach Fraps and published by Macmillan in New York in 1921 for students of textile chemistry and workers in dyehouses. The plates are line engravings of dyeing and finishing machinery — spoked pulleys, belt drives, padding rollers, washing frames — built from dense hatching and keyed with letters, useful as industrial diagram stock and as sources of mechanical silhouettes and engraved texture.
