The principles and progress of printing machinery
A technical survey of printing machinery by John Southward, drawing on F. J. F. Wilson's earlier account, published in London by E. Menken in 1900 for printers, machine minders and the trade press. The plates are wood-engraved and halftone side elevations of platen presses, cylinder machines and inking gear, with spoked flywheels, bevel gears, feed boards and maker's nameplates set against blank grounds — usable as line-ready mechanical silhouettes, gear and wheel motifs, and cutaway detail.
