Specifications for practical architecture; a guide to the architect, engineer, surveyor, and builder, with an essay on the structure and science of modern buildings
A British building manual of 1886, Frederick Rogers's revision of Alfred Bartholomew's specifications, issued in London by Crosby Lockwood for architects, engineers, surveyors and builders. Numbered line diagrams show arch construction, vault sections on piers, voussoir and brick coursing, cornice and string-course profiles, and force arrows on collapsing masonry, with fragments of caption text running into the plates.
