Sthohr's histology : arranged upon an embroyological basis
A medical school textbook of histology by Philipp Stöhr, revised and translated by Frederic T. Lewis, published in Philadelphia by P. Blakiston's Son & Co. in 1906 for students of anatomy and microscopy. The 300 plates are line and stipple drawings of tissue sections seen under the microscope, keyed with dashed leader lines and italic letters, showing glands, vessels, epithelia and cell clusters as dense fields of small rounded and branching shapes usable as abstract pattern.
