Architect and engineer
Architect and Engineer was a monthly trade journal published in San Francisco from 1905 for West Coast architects, engineers and builders, carrying project reports, drawings and photographs of new construction. The plates are halftone photographs of buildings and presentation models, here a stepped Art Deco tower shot against a dark sky, offering fluted setback massing, stacked geometric bases and hard directional light for use as silhouette or texture.
