Architect and engineer
Architect and Engineer was a monthly trade journal published in San Francisco from 1905 for West Coast architects, engineers, and contractors, carrying building news, plans, and photographs of recent work. The plates are halftone photographs of schools, courthouses, and civic blocks in streamline-moderne and stripped-classical styles, shot in raking sun with hard shadows, curved stucco walls, ribbon and steel-sash windows, and palms or pines in the foreground.
