Het Overvloeijend Herte : of Nagelatene Verzen

Luiken, Jan, 1649-1712, Noorde, Cornelis van, 1731-1795 · 1767 · Te Haarlem gedrukt : by C. H. Bohn · 88 pictures

A Dutch emblem book of posthumous devotional verse by the Amsterdam engraver-poet Jan Luyken, reissued in Haarlem by C. H. Bohn in 1767 with plates re-engraved by Cornelis van Noorde, for Mennonite and mystical readers. The 89 small square plates set one or two gesturing figures in open country, doorways and ruins, built from dense parallel hatching that leaves skies and roads nearly blank; useful for period costume, farm and craft tools, cloud-borne cherubs, and compact figure-in-landscape compositions.
