Notes on electricity and magnetism. designed as a companion to Silvanus P. Thompson's Elementary lessons
A study companion to Silvanus P. Thompson's elementary lessons on electricity and magnetism, written by U.S. naval officer Joseph Ballard Murdock and published by Macmillan in New York in 1891 for students working through the physics course. The illustrations are plain line diagrams of circuits, Wheatstone bridges, galvanometers, coils and vector constructions, lettered with serif capitals and drawn in thin uniform strokes, useful as schematic line stock, arrow-and-label conventions, or geometric figure motifs.
