A review of methods of bridge erection
An engineering thesis by David Blair Maver, submitted at the University of Illinois in 1912, surveying methods of erecting bridges for students and practising civil engineers. The plates are hand-drawn line diagrams in ink on tinted paper, showing travelling cranes, derricks, truss bays, trestles and cut sections of excavations, with dimension lines, load arrows and hand-lettered captions that give designers ready-made technical linework and annotation styles.
