Architect and engineer
A monthly architecture and building trade journal issued in San Francisco from 1905, written for West Coast architects, engineers and contractors and filled with project reports, plans and advertising. The plates here are coarse-screen halftone photographs of mid-century concrete and glass buildings — a low school block with ribbon glazing, a blank-walled auditorium, a narrow hospital front, paired housing slabs behind a wall — useful for flat grey building silhouettes, window grids and street-level vantage points.
