The Locomotive
A periodical issued by the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company from 1867 onward, written for boiler owners, engineers and insurance inspectors documenting steam-boiler explosions and machinery failures. The halftone photographs show wrecked engine rooms, torn boiler shells, collapsed brickwork and splintered timber, coarse-screened and high in grain, useful for industrial-disaster textures, pipework silhouettes and gritty monochrome backgrounds.
