Machinery pattern making
A trade manual on wooden pattern making for metal foundry work, written by Peter Spear Dingey and published by John Wiley & Sons in New York in 1894 for machinists, patternmakers and apprentices. The plates are line engravings: sectioned views of core boxes and flasks with hatched wood grain, numbered figures keyed to letters, and grids of gear-tooth outline curves labelled with pitch and measurement figures on tinted paper.
