Ancient town-planning
F. Haverfield's 1913 Clarendon Press study of Greek, Roman, and colonial street grids, written for scholars of classical archaeology and the early town-planning movement. The plates are line-drawn town plans in plain black and white: hatched insulae, lettered and numbered key blocks, walls and gates, north arrows and metre scales, with some modern Italian streets overlaid on Roman grids.
